Things you will need:
- Valid passport
- Personal medications (if the meds are not listed on your health form, please let World School know about them)
- Backpack or Wheeled Luggage - all your gear must fit into one piece - you will be carrying it around; suitcases are not recommended
- Sleeping bag with stuff sack*
- Lightweight tennis shoes with tread - that are ok to get very dirty (Vans & Keds are not recommended)
- Tevas or flip-flops
- 1-2 Long sleeve t-shirts or lightweight fleece
- 3-4 t-shirts
- 2-3 pairs long shorts (knee length)
- 3-4 pr high quality outdoor recreation socks
- Swimsuit & small towel
- Sunglasses, sunscreen, sun hat, bug spray/lotion
- Underwear, toiletries, etc. (keep it to a minimum)
- 1 pair loose fitting long pants (nylon or khaki are best)
- Bandana (we will be using them for some activities)
- Money belt (that you can wear under your clothing)
- Flashlight or headlamp (having a head lamp is a great idea for night hikes)
- Zip lock with personal first aid kit (1 pack of thin moleskin, band aids, aspirin, emergen-c, etc.)
- Camera/film/batteries (recommended but optional) - a zip-lock bag for your camera is also a good idea**
- Small binoculars (optional)
For Programs With Camping
- 2-3 heavy-duty trash bags (to line your pack & to put clothes/valuables in case of rain)
- Cup/bowl/spoon - plastic or metal; nothing breakable please
- Water bottle
- 1 candle
Camera Info
If you bring a digital camera, please be sure to have extra batteries and memory cards. You may not have a chance to recharge battery power.
India Program Only
Because we will be in holy cities, it is important to dress with respect to Indian culture.
- Shoulders must be covered in public places
- Shorts must be knee length or lower
- Skirts should be mid-calf or ankle length
- Capri pants are great!
- Girls: please either bring or be prepared to buy a shawl for the temples. They are very inexpensive and there will be opportunities for shopping.
Please remember to pack as little as possible, since you will be lugging around all that you pack!
If there is something on the list that you do not have and/or cannot borrow for the trip, please let World School know as soon as possible.
